Radon gas detection and reduction

If you think you might have radon gas in your home here’s what to do

  1. Purchase and install a 3 month radon gas detection device. 10 day and instant measuring is available but the HPA and BRE recommend 3 month tests because they provide the most accurate readings.

  2. Airtech radon gas detection kits contain two pods which are small and unobtrusive. They’re easy to use and come with full instructions on placement, usually one in the lounge and one in a bedroom. After 3 months remove your gas detection pods, complete the form and return it with the detectors directly to the independent laboratory for analysis using the pre-addressed and postage paid envelope provided.

  3. You should receive your test results within a couple of weeks. If your radon levels are reported to be above the government recommended Action level of 200 Bq m3 you should consider taking remediation measures. There are several ways to reduce radon levels ranging from simply increasing ventilation to installing under-floor extract systems, so it’s best to contact a specialist company.

  4. Airtech carry out, free of charge, a site visit, survey and send a written report with a recommendation for the best solution along with a no obligation quotation for remedial work. All the design and installation work is undertaken by qualified engineers and installers who use Airtech products that have been proven over the past decade.
